A shocker incident, which led to the untimely death of a 14-year-old girl, while managing her father’s petty shop, home alone, where two renowned party functionaries, bound-doused her in inflammable liquid before setting her ablaze. Having heard her cries the neighbors came to her rescue, admitted her in the Government Hospital with severe burns. While on treatment, she was interrogated by the police, based on her statement the culprit duo were arrested with immediate effect. She succumbed to the injuries and died on Monday but her confession of the dying declaration went viral on social media.
The reason behind this gruesome killing of an innocent had been owing to a pre-existing land dispute between the girl’s father, his brother, and the neighbor Murugan who had a hand in the killing. It’s not this incident alone, in 2013, the girl’s uncle’s hand was chopped in a similar dispute over the property issue and the case is still under trial. On Sunday, this incident had a precedence Murugan’s friend who came to buy a cigarette, had an ensuing argument with the girl’s brother, where he sustained injuries. He went ahead and booked a police complaint. On hearing the complaint being lodged Murugan and his close associate the local branch secretary of the party Sri. K. Kaliaperumal went ahead with this heinous act. Promptly our Chief Minister Sri. E. Palani Sami, canceled their party membership and expelled them from the party on Monday.
This barbarous act was condemned by many political leaders. But two people, one Thirumaavalavan, MP Chidambaram, D. Ravikumar, MP Villupuram, have given a communal angle to this act to suit their own political purposes. The fact of the matter is, both the parties to the disputed land issue, belong to the same community. This incident has indeed shaken people to contemplate what would become of them when crime doers subject themselves to such ultimate acts of brutality. When there are courts and laws to solve indisputable land issues, killing spree is not and never the solution.
People of Tamil Nadu strongly protest this inhuman act of burning of a young girl alive. This is not new, in the recent past too Sri Thirumaavalavan, was also pulled up for hate speeches, towards Hindu temples and Gods, for disrupting harmony in the society too.
Politicizing an issue for their own selfish purposes, openly showing their inhuman attitude, apathy, at the killing of a young girl for no fault of hers.
