What comes to your mind, when you hear the name ‘Porbandar’? Birthplace of Gandhi would be the answer from almost everyone, but Porbandar has another name that connects us to ancient India, it’s one among navadwarka and goes by the name ‘Sudhama Dwarka’.

Yes, Sudhama! Friend of Bhagavan SriKrishnar. Most of us would have heard about his life history through books or movies, he lived a poor life with his wife and children. Sudhamas wife asked him to visit his childhood friend SriKrishnar to seek some help, he sets out with a handful of flattened rice to meet his childhood friend.

Just like ‘Sudhama Dwarka’ there is another Dwarka among the NavaDwarka, ‘Bhet Dwarka’ which literally translates to Meeting Dwarka. A place where sudhama met his friend Bhagavan SriKrishnar, Dwarka City submerged after Bhaghavan SriKrishnar left to Vaikuntam, after Years, Bhet Dwarka resurfaced and now has a beautiful temple off the coast of Okha Port.

Legend has it that the penury of Sudhama alias Kuselan ended after the meeting and Sudhama became one of the richest man. Their friendship should be hailed as one of the greatest in the history and through this article we urge the central government to consider celebrating Kuselan Day as Friendship day of Bharat.
